A cross between a powerful indica, a potent medical strain and a modern classic, Black Sugar retains all of the best characteristics of its parents.
Blue Dream, a sativa-dominant hybrid originating in California, has achieved legendary status among West Coast strains. Crossing a Blueberry indica with the sativa Haze, Blue Dream balances full-body relaxation with gentle cerebral invigoration. Novice and veteran consumers alike enjoy the level effects of Blue Dream, which ease you gently into a calm euphoria. Some Blue Dream phenotypes express a more indica-like look and feel, but the sativa-leaning variety remains most prevalent.
This strain announces itself as many people did in the 1600s: by its smell. The difference is this monarch’s odor is one that’s meant to be enjoyed; its dense nugs have an overwhelmingly piney smell with an earthy musk that will have you thinking of your last forest adventure. Bred in part from OG Kush, Louis XIII has a very similar spicy kush aroma. Good for insomnia, this strain often tests at over 20% THC.
Lemon Haze has been characterized as smelling of fresh peeled lemon slices with a similar taste. Its buds appear to be green and yellow with amber hairs on the trichomes, giving it the yellow tint. This strain’s THC has been measured at about 15-20% with a CBD of 0.38%.
Mango Kush is an Indica-dominant strain. Its strong flavors and aromas are reminiscent of the tropical fruit for which it is named, but it also carries a hint of banana. Mango Kush has a THC count of up to 23% and averages around 10-12%. For most users, this strain kicks in immediately, producing both a strong body stone and euphoria. Many also find that this strain makes them more open and talkative. Occasionally, it can cause ‘the giggles,’ especially with higher doses or first-time use. Mango Kush’s effects typically last for one to two hours. It is a classic ‘munchies’ strain, and many patients use it to calm nausea and induce appetite. This strain also causes drowsiness, usually starting halfway through the duration of its effects. Negative effects may include the usual cotton mouth, dry eyes, paranoia, dizziness, and anxiety. It is not recommended for daytime use but can work wonders on chronic aches and pains, especially joint pain. Mango Kush relieves insomnia and may also ease headache and migraine. Patients also use it to reduce inflammation and treat stress and anxiety. Mango Kush’s exact history is mostly unknown, but it likely comes from a cross between Mango, by KC Brains, and the famed Hindu Kush. Almost never growing taller than five feet, this strain grows well both indoors and out. It finishes flowering in nine to eleven weeks and often delivers a high yield of over 400 grams per square meter.
OG Kush makes up the genetic backbone of West Coast cannabis varieties, but in spite of its ubiquity, its genetic origins remain a mystery. This famed strain arrived in Los Angeles in 1995 after being transplant coast-to-coast from Florida by its original propagators (now known as Imperial Genetics), along with “The Bubba,” which gave way to Bubba Kush.
Plenty of Power Plant hybrids are pretenders to the throne as the Queen of all Power Plant strains. Power Punch is more than just a contender; many would claim she is the rightful heir. She is the product of the successful hybridisation of two pedigree cannabis strains, Skunk #1, and Power Plant. Power Punch is low-maintenance and friendly to beginner growers. At the same time, she is definitely of interest to the cannabis connoisseur. In just 7-9 weeks of standard 12/12 bloom, she can be ready for harvest. Power Skunk is versatile and performs well in a variety of substrates and growing styles. Her most unique stealth feature is reduced growing odour as compared to common Skunk varieties.
